What is IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society?
Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS); It is the world's largest international biomedical society that gathers science and engineering practices. EMBS aims to solve medical and medical problems with engineering knowledge.
In this context, the main purpose of IEEE MCBU EMBS is to operate at the point where every living life intersects with engineering. In our activities with the participation of curious people in fields such as bioengineering, biomaterials, biology and medicine, we operate to both closely follow the technology that is constantly developing in these fields and to increase our learning and create an environment where information exchange takes place.
As IEEE MCBU EMBS, we aim to shine a light on tradition for our members with the events we held throughout the year, the webinars we held with experts in the sector, and our Science with Signs event, which we took the first step in 2021 to become a tradition.

Bioengineering Webinar
On February 16, 2022, we hosted Senem Sağtekin, who works as a Bioengineer at NOVARTIS. Our webinar on drug production at NOVARTIS, a global healthcare company based in Switzerland, was very beneficial especially for bioengineering students.
Vaccine Production Webinar
We held our webinar with Rezan Kerdige on December 28, 2022, where we were informed about the development and production of vaccines and vaccine technologies, which have left their mark on our lives with the pandemic in recent years. Koçak Farma İlaç ve Kimya Sanayi A.Ş. was established in 1971 to produce human drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Our guest, who works as a Vaccine Production Engineer in the company, informed us about the details of the sector.
